Clinic History

The Lymphoedema and Laser Clinic was established in 1999 by founding Principals Robyn Heddle and Ann Thelander following a collaborative approach to lymphoedema management involving traditional Complex Physical Therapy techniques, dove tailed with evolving laser therapy.

 

Our clinic pioneered the use of laser therapy in lymphoedema management in Australia, and was involved together with the Flinders Medical Centre in the first evidence-based research into the positive effects of laser application in secondary lymphoedema.

 

Our clinic continues to base its methodology on this unique combination of treatments which sets it apart from many others in Australia.

 

Sharon Tilley joined the team in 2001and became a practice partner in 2012. As Practice Principal since 2018, together with 6 staff physiotherapists, she continues to further develop the use of Laser Therapy and Complex Physical Therapy.
